Supreme Court Takes on Groundwater Pollution Case
Professionals who deal with wastewater issues should pay attention to a specific case going before the U.S. Supreme Court this year. Hawaii Wildlife Fund, et al., came about when it was claimed that for years Maui County pumped treated municipal wastewater into wells that carry it deep underground. A federal district court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals have both heard the case sided with Hawaii Wildlife Fund. But now it’s going to the Supreme Court.
