Sim/Tech offers orifice shields designed for use on distribution laterals for pressurized dispersal fields. These orifice shields universally work for discharge holes that face in any direction (most commonly up or down). While protecting discharge holes from exterior blockage caused by drain stone is the main purpose, they also offer a solid surface to diffuse effluent spray. This diffusion helps to prevent erosion in systems such as pressurized chambers. There are three stock sizes available to fit pipe sizes: ¾” to 1”, 1” to 1-1/2” and 2”. Sim/Tech Filter orifice shields are designed to protect the discharge holes in pressurized systems from the outside. Most of these systems are designed with specific flow-rates, pressure heads, etc. to obtain “even distribution” in the drain field and thus allow for proper treatment. Much like our pressure filter prevents debris from obstructing the discharge holes from the inside, our orifice shields prevent blockage on the outside.
