Kennedy Valve was started in 1877 by Daniel Kennedy who started making gate valves in lower Manhattan. By 1890 the operation was moved to a larger manufacturing facility in Coxsackie, New York. After moving to Elmira, NY in the early 1900s the company continued to expand with the addition of a brass foundry. By 1940 the plant received three Maritime Commission awards to manufacture eight million valves for the victory fleet. Today Kennedy Valve strives to be the supplier of choice by providing 100% on-time delivery, 100% quality product, and continuous cost improvement.
